This is not a butterfly

This work reflects on the contrasting perceptions of butterflies and moths. While butterflies are widely admired for their beauty, moths are often met with discomfort or aversion. Yet when observed closely, the distinction feels surprisingly subtle, and the moth’s patterns reveal a vivid elegance of their own.

이 작업은 나비와 나방을 바라보는 상반된 인식에서 출발한다. 나비는 아름다움의 상징으로 받아들여지는 반면, 나방은 종종 불쾌하거나 꺼려지는 존재로 여겨진다. 하지만 자세히 들여다보면 그 경계는 의외로 미묘하며, 나방의 무늬 또한 고유의 화려함과 섬세함을 드러낸다.
